Willow

Willow is a sweet and playful girl who came into our care in January 2025 after being found abandoned in a Bakersfield field in November 2024. She was discovered by farm workers who suspected she was pregnant, and a search found her hiding under wood pallets where she had given birth to 13 puppies! A kind foster took in Willow and her litter, and after all her puppies found their forever homes, it's now Willow's turn to find her own loving family. Willow is incredibly affectionate and enjoys playtime. She's currently living with three other large dogs and gets along wonderfully with them, sharing in their playful antics. While Willow can be a bit timid when first meeting new people, she has a remarkable ability to warm up with a little patience. We've seen many dogs like Willow blossom into devoted companions, and we know she can too. She'll thrive with an adopter who can provide her with the time and understanding she needs to build trust again. We are actively working on building her confidence, and she's showing great progress! She loves her walks and knows exactly what that leash means.

Willow would do best in a home where she can continue to gain confidence. A patient adopter who understands her need to warm up at her own pace will help her thrive.

Training & Support

Willow can be a little skittish when she first meets new people and will need time to build trust. Continuing to build her confidence with positive reinforcement will be key to her success. She already knows what a leash is for and enjoys her walks!
