Himari is a delightful 10-month-old female Terrier mix who currently weighs about 22 lbs and is expected to reach around 33 lbs. She was born at the shelter to a rescued mother and is now being fostered in Matamoros, Mexico. Himari is a sweet, affectionate, playful, and loving girl who is learning to trust people. While she can be a little shy and nervous with new faces, she blossoms into a bundle of energy with her doggy friends, enjoying lots of running and playing.
Ideal Home
Himari would thrive in a home with a family who understands the needs of rescued animals and is patient and understanding. An experienced dog owner who has a background in dog behavior and training would be ideal. She needs a home with high tolerance and patience for rescued puppies, recognizing that they may have had traumatic pasts and require an adjustment period. Please note, Himari is not house-trained.
Ongoing Health
Himari has a comprehensive health protocol including being spayed/neutered, vaccinated with DHPPI, Rabies, and Bordetella. She has been dewormed, microchipped, and tested negative for heartworm with a 4DX test. She receives monthly heartworm, flea, and tick prevention with Nexgard Spectra. She comes with a health certificate and vaccination booklet.
Training & Support
Himari is not house-trained and will require consistent effort and patience to help her learn. It's important to remember that rescued dogs may have been traumatized and will need time to decompress and adjust to a new home. Patience and understanding are crucial.
