Dewey

Dewey is a charming 2-year-old Carolina Dog mix, weighing in at 45-50 pounds, who's ready for adventure and snuggles! He's the perfect blend of outdoorsman and devoted companion, eager to explore the woods with you and then curl up for cozy mornings. Dewey's intelligence shines through as he loves puzzle toys, games of hide-and-seek, and especially enjoys engaging his nose in longline explorations and sniffy hikes. He even delights in bounding through snow! While initially unsure about toys, he now proudly carries his squeaky ball and enjoys a good game of tug.

Ideal Home

Dewey would thrive in a home without young children. He needs an experienced adopter who can provide a calm, structured environment. A yard for sniffing and enrichment would be a big plus.

Training & Support

Dewey does experience leash reactivity towards passing dogs, people, and bicycles. He's improving with dedicated work from his foster, but his adopter must be committed to continuing positive reinforcement training and mindful threshold management. He is crate trained, food motivated, and settles well. He also enjoys relaxing on his place mat and follows a consistent daily routine beautifully.
