Alder

Alder is a handsome 3-year-old Pyrenean Shepherd mix who came to us from Texas. He is a shy but friendly gentleman who craves affection and attention, though he's still learning how to express his excitement. Alder is a bit unsure how to play with other dogs but would likely benefit from a home with a calmer, playful canine companion. He is protective of his food and will need to be fed separately from other dogs. Alder seems to do well with cats and would likely be fine in a home with children beyond their screeching years. A fenced yard would be ideal, but Alder also walks well on a leash, making a home without a yard acceptable as long as he gets his daily exercise.

Ideal Home

Alder would thrive in a home with a calmer, playful dog and children who are past the "screeching years." A fenced yard is ideal, but not required if his adopters are committed to regular walks. He should not be left to wander unsupervised outdoors.

Alder has no known health conditions.

Alder is a bit protective of his food and will need to be fed separately from other dogs. He is still learning how to express his excitement and may benefit from continued positive reinforcement to build his confidence.
