Cowboy is a handsome 2-year-old husky mix who has overcome immense adversity. He was found abandoned and severely injured, having been used as a bait dog. Despite his traumatic past, Cowboy is a survivor and is now safe, neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, and receiving necessary medical care. He is currently being treated for heartworm and is on the road to recovery. Cowboy can be cautious with other dogs and may thrive as the only pet in his home, where he can feel completely secure. He also takes time to warm up to men, which is understandable given his history. Cowboy is a resilient soul who deserves a loving and unwavering home where he can finally feel safe and cherished.

Cowboy may do best as an only dog, where he can feel secure and unburdened by the presence of other animals. He needs a patient and understanding adopter who can help him continue to build trust, especially with men.

Cowboy is heartworm positive but has already begun treatment and is expected to make a full recovery. He has received all necessary vaccinations and has been neutered.
