Lily is an 8-year-old, 79-pound sweet girl who is deaf and incredibly affectionate. She loves to cuddle and be close to her person, often sleeping pressed against them. Lily bonds deeply and will give her whole heart to those she trusts, showing a heartwarming smile when she feels safe and happy. Unfortunately, Lily has experienced loss and has been returned to rescue not once, but twice. She was first adopted five years ago and adored her owner, but after his passing, she was returned due to her owner's wife being unable to care for her. More recently, after what was believed to be her forever home, she is once again searching for a family. Lily thrives when given patience and understanding, allowing her to move at her own pace and build trust.
Ideal Home
Lily needs to be the only pet in the home. She forms incredibly deep bonds and experiences separation anxiety when apart from her person, which can manifest as barking when she feels worried, stressed, or uncertain. A quieter home would be ideal, perhaps with a retiree, someone who works from home, or anyone willing to make a dedicated commitment to a loyal companion and help her feel secure.
Ongoing Health
Lily is deaf. As part of our Forever Foster Program, Road to Home Rescue will cover all approved medical expenses beyond routine wellness care for the rest of Lily's life.
Training & Support
Lily experiences separation anxiety, but a professional trainer has assessed these issues as "fixable." With commitment, consistency, structure, support, and the right tools, her anxiety can be successfully managed. The rescue is covering the cost of direct support from this trainer to help Lily's future adopter succeed. Lily is not destructive and is house-trained.
