My name is Lani! I am a beautiful seven-year-old German Shepherd, and I weigh 68 pounds. I may be a seasoned girl, but don't let my age fool you—I still have plenty of love to give and adventures waiting to be had! My rescue family says I'm incredibly sweet, affectionate, and always happy to spend time with my people. I get along well with other dogs and still have a playful side that shines through every day. Before coming into rescue, life wasn't very kind to me. I was found wandering in a rural area in heartbreaking condition. I was so undernourished that I could barely walk, and the Texas heat had taken a toll on me. Thankfully, some kind people stepped in, gave me the care I desperately needed, and helped me regain my strength. Today, I'm healthy, happy, and ready for a fresh start. I've learned to walk nicely on a leash, and I've discovered that I absolutely love getting out and exploring the world. Whether it's a stroll through the neighborhood, a weekend camping trip, or a scenic hiking trail, I'm excited to experience all the adventures I missed out on. I'm house-trained, crate-trained, and enjoy being a calm, well-mannered companion in the home. While I haven't lived with children in rescue, my caregivers think I'd do well with respectful kids ages 8 and up.

Ideal Home

I would do well with respectful kids ages 8 and up. I cannot live in a home with cats.

Ongoing Health

I am spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all of my vaccinations.

Training & Support

I've learned to walk nicely on a leash, and I'm house-trained and crate-trained. I enjoy being a calm, well-mannered companion in the home.
