Meet Norman!

Norman is a wonderfully affectionate 4-and-a-half-year-old Labrador Retriever/American Pitbull Terrier mix who weighs about 73 pounds. He's got a heart as big as his frame and charming tortilla chip-shaped ears! Affectionately nicknamed the "velvet hippo," Norman is a gentle and goofy soul who absolutely adores cuddles, comfy dog beds, and spending quality time with his people. He's a champion couch potato with a fun-loving streak, often flopping onto his back to show off his adorable grin. Walks, training games, and belly rubs are high on his list of favorite things, and he truly shines when he receives love and consistent structure. Norman's routine is flexible, and he's content as long as he has someone to nap near and a bit of mental stimulation each day.

Ideal Home

Norman does best in a calm, structured environment with a secure, fenced yard. He is not recommended for homes with small children. He can be compatible with older, respectful children and some dogs, provided there are slow introductions.

Ongoing Health

Norman is up-to-date on vaccinations and is neutered.

Training & Support

Norman is crate trained, house-trained, and knows commands such as "sit," "stay," "down," and "place," and is currently mastering "leave it." He responds very well to positive reinforcement and consistency. His adoption includes four professional training sessions and a full month of behavioral guidance from a consultant to help him settle in. Norman can be selective with dogs and new people and has shown reactivity in certain situations. While he has not displayed people-reactivity inside the home, he requires careful introductions and continued guidance outside. A loving, experienced guardian who understands his needs is essential.
