Duncan

Duncan is the sweetest 1-year-old boy, weighing in at about 19 pounds. His DNA shows a delightful mix of breeds, with a strong Chihuahua influence. He loves to play with his squeaky toys, enjoys receiving pets and lots of attention, and is a quiet, well-behaved companion. Duncan is pretty good at being house-trained and walks well on a leash, though he could benefit from a little more training to polish his skills. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and is eager to make friends.

We do not adopt to anyone with children under the age of 8 years.

Ongoing Health

Duncan tested positive for heartworms when he was rescued. He has completed treatment according to The American Heartworm Society protocols, and we typically see dogs test negative within 4 to 6 months. All our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccines (including Rabies, Dhpp, Bordetella, and Canine Influenza), and on monthly preventatives for heartworms, fleas/ticks, and parasites.

Training & Support

While Duncan is a quiet and well-behaved boy who is mostly house-trained and does pretty well on a leash, he could use a little more training to help him become the best companion he can be.

Transportation

Duncan is currently in foster care in Houston, Texas. The adoption fee includes transportation.
