Dexter is a 12-week-old miniature schnauzer mix with a heart full of love and a nose for adventure! This sweet boy was found abandoned on a rural highway, but thankfully, a kind soul rescued him and brought him to a loving foster home. Dexter is a social butterfly who loves to cuddle with his humans and can't get enough of playful romps with his doggy friends. He's great with kids, too, and has shown gentleness with even the littlest ones. He's a quick learner and eager to please, making him a joy to train with positive reinforcement. Dexter is working on his potty and crate training and is showing great promise, especially with a consistent routine and plenty of praise.
Ideal Home
Dexter would thrive in a home that can provide him with consistent routine, positive reinforcement, and plenty of opportunities for play and cuddles. He's great with kids, cats, and other dogs, but any new pet introductions should be done slowly and carefully.
Ongoing Health
Dexter has received age-appropriate vaccinations and parasite treatment and prevention. He will be neutered before adoption.
Training & Support
Dexter is currently working on potty training, crate training, and puppy manners. He is about 60% potty trained with occasional accidents but does well in his crate. Consistency and positive reinforcement will be key to his continued success.

Dexter is currently located in the greater Houston area. Adoption is available with transport to the Pacific Northwest, Colorado, and the Northeast (some restrictions may apply). We are currently unable to adopt to Oregon, New York, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, or Maine.
