Caesar

Meet Caesar! Caesar is a smart, affectionate, and incredibly sweet dog who has spent too much of his life waiting for a family. He came to the shelter as a five-month-old puppy and has grown up behind kennel walls. Despite his challenging past, Caesar still trusts people and gets excited to learn and play. He knows an impressive list of tricks, loves training, toys, car rides, and walks. Caesar can be a little overwhelmed by new experiences and will need a patient adopter who understands he'll require a proper decompression period to adjust to home life. Once he feels safe, his goofy and loving personality truly shines. Caesar is looking for stability and a chance to become the amazing companion we know he can be.

Ideal Home

Caesar would do best as the only pet and in a home without cats. He would also do best with children aged 14 and older. He dislikes people sneaking up on him unexpectedly, so a home that is mindful of this would be ideal.

Ongoing Health

Caesar's spay/neuter, first 3 distemper series vaccines and dewormings, rabies vaccine (age-appropriate), microchip, heartworm preventative, and flea/tick preventative are all up to date.

Training & Support

Caesar knows many cues including Sit, Down, Shake, Touch, Spin, Stay, Come, Place, Middle, and Drop It. He is also learning "Give Kiss" and "Sit Pretty." He seems to do okay going into a crate and settling down after some time, though he gets excited when he can see things happening outside his crate.

Transportation

Caesar is located at the Homeward Trails Manny Law Adoption Center, 11116 Fairfax Station Rd, Fairfax Station, VA. He can be met during adoption events on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 AM - 4 PM.
