Koda aka Goose

Goose, formerly known as Koda, is a sweet and affectionate boy who desperately needs a foster or adoptive home. He was rescued from euthanasia in Arkansas and spent a year in a loving foster home where he did well with kids and other dogs. While he can be a bit hesitant in new situations, like walking down hallways or exploring new rooms, he made great progress with patience and reassurance. Unfortunately, Goose's recent adoption didn't work out. His adopter reported increasing fear and unpredictability, including aggression towards resident dogs, reactivity towards other animals and people from behind a fence, fear of men, and anxiety around young children. He also experiences anxiety when crated now, which is a change from before. Despite these challenges, Goose still loves to snuggle, has no food aggression, and possesses many wonderful qualities. We believe his behaviors stem from fear and past trauma, and with the right experienced, patient individual, Goose can continue to build confidence and thrive.

Ideal Home

An adult-only home with an experienced adopter or foster who can provide a calm environment and make thoughtful introductions to other dogs.

Training & Support

Goose needs an experienced individual who can help him continue building confidence and work through his fear-based behaviors. Thoughtful introductions to other dogs are important.
