Casey

Casey is a sweet 12-year-old female Jack Russell terrier mix who is ready for her happily ever after! This petite girl, standing 14 inches at the shoulder, currently weighs 27 pounds and is looking for a patient adopter to help her reach a healthier weight of 19 pounds. Casey is a true road trip companion, a wonderful car traveler, and absolutely adores her "sniff walks." She's a quick learner and has adjusted wonderfully to foster care, experiencing new people, places, and plenty of enriching activities.

Ideal Home

Casey would thrive in a quiet home with plenty of opportunities for long walks. She would do best as the only pet or with an easygoing, neutered male canine companion. Absolutely no cats or female dogs. She needs a home that can strictly enforce a diet plan to help her lose weight. No apartments or condos, please.

Ongoing Health

Casey needs to lose at least eight pounds.

Training & Support

Casey is house-trained and walks well on a leash. She does experience some separation anxiety and can be vocal, so crating is recommended when left alone. While she's not a fan of her crate, she does cooperate with her humans. She benefits from a few minutes to warm up to new people and enjoys meeting other dogs on a walk before interacting further.
