Mora is a sweet and gentle young Labrador-type mix who is a year and 3 months old and weighs approximately 26.5 lbs. She's black and can be a bit shy and nervous when she first meets new people or is in unfamiliar surroundings. However, with a little patience, calm voices, and affection, Mora begins to relax and reveal her loving and playful personality. She enjoys spending time with other dogs, which helps her gain confidence, and she especially loves hugs once she feels safe and secure. Mora shares a rescue story with her sister, Sadie; they were found abandoned outside a school in October 2024 and have been waiting for their forever homes ever since.
Ideal Home
Mora would thrive in a home with a patient and loving family who understands her gentle nature and is committed to helping her feel safe and secure. A securely fenced backyard is a must, and an active family that enjoys outdoor activities would be a great match. She needs a family with a genuine intention to rescue and provide a dog with protection and education, understanding the behaviors that can come with rescued animals. Experience in dog behavior and training is highly preferred, or a willingness to hire a professional trainer. Mora also requires a high tolerance and patience for rescued puppies and is not currently house-trained.
Ongoing Health
Mora has completed a comprehensive health protocol including being spayed/neutered, receiving DHPPI and Rabies vaccines, Bordetella vaccine, deworming, and microchipping. She has also tested negative for heartworm and has a negative 4DX test. She is on monthly Nexgard Spectra for flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. A health certificate and vaccination booklet are provided. It's important to remember that rescued dogs may require an adjustment period due to past experiences and may not be fully house-trained.
Training & Support
Mora is not currently house-trained and will require ongoing patience and consistency in this area. She benefits greatly from positive reinforcement and a structured environment to build her confidence. Her adopters should be prepared to invest time and effort into her training and socialization.
