Smokey is a handsome 2-year-old male Cane Corso / Weimaraner mix who came to us as a stray and is now ready to find his forever family! He weighs 60 pounds and is fully vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. Smokey is a dog-friendly boy who currently lives with two other dogs and enjoys playing chase with them. While he loves playtime, he's also a champion couch cuddler and enjoys relaxing with his foster mom. He's a super smart, quick learner who is very submissive and kind-hearted. Smokey is described as affectionate, loyal, and a total couch potato, making him the perfect companion for someone looking for a laid-back, easygoing dog who enjoys snuggle time and quiet companionship.
Ideal Home
Smokey would thrive in a home without cats. He would also do best in a home with a doggie companion, as he loves playing with other dogs. Due to his shyness with new people, he would thrive in a low-traffic home. Smokey would also love a home with someone who works from home or is only away from the home for a few hours a day, as he has some separation anxiety. He does well if left to free roam. A house rather than an apartment would be best suited for Smokey.
Ongoing Health
Smokey is fully vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered.
Training & Support
Smokey is fully potty trained and will only do his business outside. He is a little nervous around strangers and might bark out of excitement, but he is easily redirected. He can pull slightly on the leash initially when excited, but he settles in and walks calmly. Smokey is not a huge fan of the crate and prefers not to be shut in it. He does cry for a bit when you leave due to separation anxiety, but he doesn't tear anything up and eventually stops crying.
