Jasper

Meet Jasper! This handsome cream-colored fellow was born on February 4th, 2026, and joined us on June 23rd, 2026. Jasper is a sweet boy who is looking for a special home to call his own. He's described as being dominant, and while he's had success with some training, he does have a bit of a protective streak when it comes to his food and favorite resting spots. He’s also a bit sensitive around his stomach and rear end. He’s a smart cookie, though, and is already potty-trained!

Ideal Home

Jasper would do best in a quiet home without any other pets, as he can be dominant and may nip at other animals. He's compatible with older children but would prefer a home environment with less commotion. Due to his arthritis, Jasper will need ramps or stairs to access furniture like couches and beds.

Ongoing Health

Jasper has arthritis in his front right leg and left back leg. While weight loss has significantly helped him manage his condition, he still requires assistance with mobility, especially when getting on and off furniture. He is up-to-date on all vaccinations, flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention, and has been dewormed. He has also been neutered and microchipped.

Training & Support

Jasper is protective of his food and his space. Providing him with his own designated feeding area and a comfortable spot that is exclusively his can help him feel secure. Consistent positive reinforcement and understanding his sensitivities will be key to his continued success.
