Meet Slade! This handsome chocolate Lab is just shy of 2 years old and has striking ember eyes. Slade is an energetic boy looking for a special family experienced with working breeds and their high energy levels. He truly shines in one-on-one settings, where his focus is impressive and his eagerness to engage is clear. Add in a few distractions, though, and his playful, puppy-like nature still takes over – he’s young, enthusiastic, and still learning to channel all that energy appropriately. Slade is a "Little Hero" who has been blessed with a second chance in life and is excited to start his next journey with you!
Ideal Home
Slade would thrive in an active home that can provide consistent training and clear boundaries, plenty of physical exercise, mental stimulation and structured activities, and an experienced handler who understands working-drive dogs.
Ongoing Health
Slade is vetted, which includes DAPP, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, flea prevention, heartworm testing and prevention, and micro-chipping.
Training & Support
His leash manners are decent, but he’ll need continued work on his heel command. He knows “sit” and “down,” especially when treats are involved, though he can show a bit of a stubborn streak. With consistent reinforcement, structure, and positive training, Slade has all the potential to grow into an incredible companion. Our goal is to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts and just want someone to be understanding with them, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be!

Transporation
Slade is available for transportation in VA, PA, CT, VT, NY, UT, ID, OR, TX, WA, TN, KY, IN, IL, WI, MN & OH. There are predetermined pick-up locations and times. For those being picked up at our Angleton, Tx location, there is a fee of $75. The adoption and transportation fees range from $100-500. Private custom transport routes and destinations are available upon request with financial responsibility on the adopter's family. Transport vehicles are equipped with air conditioning for comfort and onboard attendants providing 24-hour care. You will get to follow along on their journey through a private Facebook Event page.
