Poodle Mix - Karmie

Karmie is a 7-year-old, 21.6-pound Poodle mix who is looking for her forever companion! She was originally surrendered to a shelter in 2021 and was transferred to our rescue due to stress. Karmie loves to be by her foster mom's side and enjoys receiving pets. She previously lived in an adult-only apartment as an only dog and later with an older owner, also as an only dog. Karmie is house-trained, enjoys long walks and car rides, and is playful with toys, though she also has a penchant for shredding paper towels and chewing on leather shoes.

Ideal Home

Karmie needs a patient owner who will not be forceful with her. She requires a home without children under 14, and she can be an only dog or live with calm adult dogs who are not puppies. Karmie also needs a home where she will not be left alone for extended periods, as she takes time to settle in and trust new people.

Ongoing Health

Karmie experiences significant anxiety at the vet and groomer, which has required her to be muzzled during vet visits.

Training & Support

Karmie can be slow to trust new people and may give a warning growl or air snap if she doesn't want to be touched, which includes during grooming. Her anxiety has improved in her foster home but still requires a patient approach.

Karmie is currently located in our rescue. We are able to transport her to approved adopters within a 3-hour radius of our rescue.
