Meet Lena, a 3-year-old, 45-pound Basenji / Carolina Dog mix with a loyal heart and a gentle soul. Lena is an affectionate, intelligent, food-motivated, dog-friendly, and wonderfully calm companion. She is looking for a loving forever family where she can finally settle in and belong.
Lena forms deep, meaningful bonds with her people. She may take a little time to warm up at first, but once she feels safe, she becomes an incredibly affectionate and devoted companion. One of her favorite ways to ask for love is with a gentle nose nudge or by softly placing her paw on your arm. Around the house, Lena is calm and easygoing. She's happy chewing on a bone, relaxing nearby, or snuggling with her people. She enjoys going out for walks and adventures, but she isn't overly high-energy and settles beautifully once back home.
Lena's story is a special one. She came into rescue pregnant and gave birth to nine beautiful puppies, raising them with incredible devotion. Every one of her puppies found loving homes, but Lena – the wonderful mama who gave them all their happy endings – is still patiently waiting for hers. She truly is the kind of dog who forms a deep bond with her family and becomes a loyal, loving companion for life.

Lena is a healthy girl who has completed her puppy vaccinations and is spayed.
Training & Support
Lena is very smart and eager to please. Because she is highly food motivated, training has been a wonderful way to build her confidence and strengthen her bond with people. She participates in group training sessions, practices basic commands, and has even enjoyed trying some beginner agility exercises. She gets along great with other dogs and enjoys canine companionship.
