Nesta

Meet Nesta, a 3-year-old, 50-pound Catahoula Leopard Dog mix with a heart full of love and a touch of shyness. Nesta was rescued with her family from under an abandoned house, and after being brought to safety, she's ready to find a forever home where she can truly blossom. She's fully vaccinated, microchipped, spayed, and eager to start her new life.

Nesta is a gentle soul who can be a little timid with loud noises and sudden movements. She warms up to new people gradually, initially retreating to her safe space but emerging to greet visitors once she feels comfortable. She's incredibly smart and picks up on new cues quickly, already mastering "sit." Once she trusts you, she's a loyal companion who enjoys pets and will look at you with loving, pleading puppy-dog eyes.

Ideal Home

Nesta would thrive in a home with patience, a structured environment, and consistent routine. She needs a family that understands her sensitive nature and can provide gentle introductions. She would do best with older children who are respectful of her boundaries. She would prefer a home without cats.

Ongoing Health

Nesta is up-to-date on all her vaccinations and is spayed. She has no known ongoing health conditions.

Training & Support

Nesta is fully potty and crate trained and will only go potty outside. She is comfortable being crated when her foster mom is away and can also be left out to free-roam for short periods. While she walks on a leash, she is hesitant and timid, and would greatly benefit from a home with a backyard where she can play safely. She needs slow, respectful approaches and continued guidance to build her confidence.

Nesta is currently in a foster home in Houston, TX. She is eligible for transport to an adopter once a suitable match is found and transport arrangements are made.
