Float

Float is a wonderfully sweet 7-8 year old, 53 lb mixed breed who came to us from a shelter that was closing in North Carolina. He spent 125 days there, mostly on concrete floors which caused pressure sores on his elbows. Thankfully, we were able to get him out just before his fate was sealed.

During his first vet visit, we learned Float is partially blind and has arthritis in his back legs. He's estimated to be 7-8 years old, not 3 as initially thought, which makes his time at the previous shelter even more heartbreaking. But none of these challenges have dimmed his spirit! Float is friendly and easygoing with everyone he meets, including children, cats, and other dogs. He truly enjoys playing with his canine companions and going on long sniffaris. While he might bump into a corner or two in new environments, he quickly learns his surroundings and navigates homes with ease.

Ideal Home

Float would love a home where he can enjoy leisurely strolls and plenty of affection. His partial vision loss means he may need a little extra time to adjust to new spaces, but he's a quick learner.

Ongoing Health

Float has partial vision loss and arthritis in his back legs. He may benefit from comfortable bedding to ease pressure on his elbows.

Training & Support

Float is house-trained and is a friendly, easygoing boy. His primary need is patience as he adjusts to new surroundings and learns his way around.

Float is currently fostered in Abington, MA. He is available for local or out-of-state adoption, provided the adopter can travel to meet him.
