Dorothy

Dorothy is the happiest Beagle around, despite a rough start! This sweet girl and her best friend, Blanche, were rescued from a less-than-ideal situation and are now living their best lives in foster care. Dorothy is approximately 4-5 years old and weighs around 24 lbs. She was previously used for breeding, but she's left that life behind and is ready for a loving home where she can relax and enjoy naps, snacks, and soft dog beds. Dorothy enjoys playing with toys and her buddy Blanche but isn't a high-energy dog. She walks nicely (and slowly) on leash, rides well in the car, and is a social butterfly who loves meeting new people and dogs.

Ideal Home

Dorothy adores children and is great with other cats and dogs. While she may initially chase a cat that runs, she shows no aggression and even tries to initiate play. She prefers to hang with other adult, laid-back dogs. After her past, she doesn't love being outside for extended periods and prefers to go out for potty breaks and then come back inside to the comforts of home. It's important for her to have another dog in the home, as she will be happiest with canine company and play.

Ongoing Health

Dorothy has been spayed, microchipped, and is current on vaccinations and parasite prevention. She previously tested positive for heartworms but has successfully completed treatment and will be heartworm-free by early October.

Training & Support

Dorothy can be vocal at times when excited (like during feeding) or when she wants to come back inside. If not encouraged to go outside for potty breaks, she may have accidents.
