Bear is a handsome, one-year-old, 60lb bundle of enthusiasm and curiosity! He's likely a pittie mix, but as always with rescue, his breed and exact age are our best guess. Bear is a confident and people-loving guy who soaks up attention and is eager to learn. He's responsive, enjoys engaging with his people, and is very treat-motivated, making him a joy to train. Bear is already house and crate trained, and he loves to lounge.
Ideal Home
Bear would thrive in a home that can provide regular exercise, mental stimulation, and ongoing training. He would do well with a confident, calm, larger female dog who won't be overwhelmed by his playful energy. He has shown potential to live peacefully with a feline friend, provided they are dog-savvy, confident, and introduced slowly.
Ongoing Health
Bear is up-to-date on all vetting, including vaccinations, deworming, flea prevention, and a microchip. He receives a 12-month heartworm preventative injection.
Training & Support
Bear is still learning to manage his excitement on leash, especially around other dogs. He will need continued guidance and clear, consistent handling to help him learn to contain his enthusiasm. While he can be a bit pushy in play initially, he learns quickly and respects boundaries once he gets to know other dogs. He enjoys enrichment puzzles, which are great for his brain.
