Meet Cleo!
This sweet 2-year-old black mouth cur mix is a survivor who has shown incredible resilience. She was abandoned, then became a devoted mama, and bravely overcame heartworm disease. Through it all, Cleo has remained a true angel. A kind person rescued her and helped her raise her eight adorable puppies, who have all found their forever homes. Now, it's finally Cleo's turn to be chosen!
Cleo is a young, playful girl with a joyful spirit. She enjoys meeting new canine friends and her happy, sweet personality makes her a delight to be around. She's already house-trained, walks politely on a leash, and is a wonderful companion.
Ideal Home
Cleo would thrive in a home with a securely fenced yard, as she's an impressive jumper who can clear a 4-foot fence! She's looking for a family ready to provide the love and stability she deserves. Because she loves her people so much, she can become a bit anxious when left alone for extended periods. She'll need a family who can help her build confidence and show her that being apart doesn't mean being abandoned. She hasn't been tested with cats and has shown a strong interest in them from afar. Given her size and playful nature, older children would likely be the best fit. Cleo also gets excited by bicycles and motorcycles, so she'll need a confident handler who can manage her on walks if she gets eager to chase.
Ongoing Health
Cleo has successfully completed her heartworm treatment and is now healthy and ready for her forever home. All our dogs are vetted by a licensed veterinarian and arrive spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines, and microchipped.
Training & Support
Cleo is house-trained and walks nicely on a leash. She may need some continued support in building confidence when left alone and managing her excitement around moving objects like bicycles and motorcycles.

Transportation
Cleo is currently in South Mississippi. We welcome both local and out-of-town adopters. For those adopting from out of town, we offer virtual meet-and-greets and can arrange transport to many states in the Northeast. The adoption fee includes transport to the city on this listing, with transports running every 2-3 weeks. We cannot adopt to Rhode Island due to import restrictions.
