BENTLEY - Dog & Child friendly

Meet Bentley! This handsome 5-year-old Golden Retriever is a loyal, affectionate boy who absolutely adores people, children, and playing with other dogs. He's looking for a loving new home due to severe allergies in his current family with a new baby. Bentley wants to be close to his people and would happily sleep beside you, though he's also content on the bedroom floor or a cool spot in the house. He loves car rides, dog parks, running, fetching balls, and spending time with his family.

Ideal Home

Bentley would thrive with an active family who can give him exercise, attention, and lots of love. A securely fenced yard and experience with larger breeds would be a bonus. He must be included and feel like he's a part of the family.

Ongoing Health

Bentley is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations, bloodwork, and flea/tick/heartworm prevention through 2025. He has no known medical issues or allergies.

Training & Support

Bentley knows commands like sit, down, paw, and wait for food. He is fully house-trained and can be left alone for 6-8 hours with no separation anxiety, though he may bark briefly when you leave. He will bark at strangers or the doorbell until he gets familiar with people. Bentley can pull on leash unless he's had exercise first, and a gentle leader works perfectly for this. If a door or gate is left open, he may take off exploring. He counter-surfs and steals food if given the opportunity, and has growled if someone accidentally stepped on his fur. He prefers eating from bowls placed on the ground, as he has snapped at another dog around food when using raised feeders. He has destroyed toys in the past but not household items.
