Booth came into our lives after a difficult start. He survived a winter storm alone after his brother was taken, but on January 14th, 2025, his world changed. He was no longer unnamed or unwanted; he became Booth.
Booth embodies loyalty. He's not the dog that will greet every stranger on your walk, but he will be your devoted companion, always happy to see you. He is best suited for a home without other dogs, or with experienced owners who understand the need for careful, supervised introductions. He currently lives with other dogs and is a wonderful "big brother" to a puppy, though they are never left unsupervised. Booth gets along wonderfully with cats and would do well with a dog-savvy feline friend who enjoys playing.
Ideal Home
A home with a securely fenced yard is a must, as Booth can jump or climb fences like chain link. He does not do well with long-term kenneling due to anxiety. Booth prefers a quiet environment and would be happiest in a home without visitors, as he is uncomfortable with strangers in his personal space and will vocalize his displeasure.
Ongoing Health
Booth's adoption fee of $175 includes his neuter, microchip, vaccines, and flea/tick/heartworm preventatives.
Training & Support
Booth is crate trained but experiences anxiety with extended periods in a crate. He has been sleeping in his person's bedroom for the past four months without destructive behaviors and has recently been left free to roam the home with only minor chewing on the dog couch. He is leash-trained and travels well in the car. Booth is slow to warm up to new people, preferring to avoid interaction initially. He will accept treats and minimal attention but needs his own space during introductions. Patience and understanding will help you gain the trust of this incredible dog.
