Mabel is a 5.5-year-old Pug/Bulldog mix looking for her forever home. She was rescued from a puppy mill where she lived her entire life confined in a barn loft. Mabel is now ready to experience all the joys of being a beloved family pet. Despite her past, Mabel has made amazing progress and is eager to build confidence with the right support. She is currently on medication for anxiety, a testament to her difficult start. Mabel had surgery for a luxating patella in her left rear leg and is recovering well. She gets along with cats and is submissive towards other dogs. Mabel is crate-trained and is working on her house training, but with patience and consistency, she will surely master it! She is also well-behaved on car rides and rarely barks.
Ideal Home
Mabel would thrive in a home with a calm and confident canine companion. She needs someone who is home most of the time, as she experiences some separation anxiety. A household without children under 16 is preferred, as very active young children may make her fearful. A fenced yard is a must for Mabel.
Ongoing Health
Mabel is currently receiving medication for anxiety. She underwent surgery for a luxating patella in her left rear leg and has significantly improved. She has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and tested for Heartworm. She has also been on monthly preventatives.
Training & Support
Mabel's house training is still in progress, and she will need continued patience and consistency. She is receiving medication for anxiety and will need ongoing support to build her confidence.
