Meet Chanel, a resilient 3 to 4-year-old terrier mix who was once on a euthanasia list in a crowded New Mexico shelter. Thankfully, she was rescued and brought to Texas, where she has blossomed into an energetic, happy dog who even donates blood to save other lives! While her transformation is incredible, she's still a work in progress and is searching for a patient family to help her rebuild her faith in humanity and learn to trust again. She enjoys toys and balls, especially soft squeakers, but can be startled by loud noises. Chanel is also still working through past trauma and can be flinchy when hands reach toward her. She needs a gentle, understanding environment where she can take things at her own pace and finally feel truly safe.
Ideal Home
Chanel would thrive in a home with a patient, understanding family and would do best with a canine companion to help her build confidence.
Ongoing Health
Chanel is up-to-date on all vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, flea prevention, and heartworm testing and prevention.
Training & Support
Chanel is still learning to play with toys and can be flinchy when hands reach toward her. She will need continued gentle training and socialization to help her build trust and feel safe.

Transportation
Chanel is currently in Texas. Transportation is available to VA, PA, CT, VT, NY, UT, ID, OR, TX, WA, TN, KY, IN, IL, WI, MN & OH, LA. AZ is coming soon. Transport is provided on air-conditioned buses or vans with onboard attendants providing 24-hour care. Transport pick-up locations and times are predetermined, and you will have the opportunity to follow your pet's journey through a private Facebook event page. Adoption and transportation fees range from $100-$500. Private custom transport routes and destinations are available upon request with the adopter assuming financial responsibility. Texas adopters have a $250 flat rate fee for transport within the state. Pick-up at our Angleton, TX location is $75 and includes all vetting.
