Sentry is an approximately 6.5-month-old male Retriever/Pit Bull mix, weighing around 40 pounds, with an estimated DOB of January 2026. He is expected to be a large dog when fully grown. Sentry is a bundle of joy, always happy to snuggle, play, or explore. He was rescued with his mother, Wanda, and siblings from a rural area known for animal abandonment. Despite his rough start, Sentry has blossomed in a loving foster home and is now a confident, affectionate, and well-rounded pup. He loves people and other dogs, and he thrives on making every moment fun. Sentry is potty trained and continues to learn and grow, eager to please and ready for new experiences.
Ideal Home
Sentry would thrive in an active home that can provide consistent positive reinforcement, continued socialization, and plenty of opportunities for him to learn and grow. He does well with children and other dogs. While he has not been tested with cats, his outgoing and friendly nature suggests he could adapt with proper introductions. We prefer homes with another friendly, well-mannered dog to act as a mentor, but we are open to homes without other dogs if you have a proactive plan for continued socialization. Because Sentry is still a young dog, we prefer homes where someone isn't routinely away for more than four to six hours at a time.
Ongoing Health
Sentry is a healthy young pup who has received all age-appropriate vaccinations and is microchipped.
Training & Support
Sentry is potty trained and continues to practice his leash skills and basic obedience. He is eager to learn and will benefit from ongoing positive reinforcement, consistency, and continued leash practice. Continued socialization is crucial for him to build lifelong confidence.
