Cory is a handsome boy who was a favorite among shelter staff. Sadly, he ran out of time due to overcrowding, so the staff who cared for him requested he be safely transferred to rescue. He is now in foster care and learning what it's like to be part of a loving family. Cory's past is a bit of a mystery; he was found living lost in a railyard for several weeks before being brought to the shelter. He's been bathed, neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. While his age is a guess, he's estimated to be between 3 and 5 years old. He's an unknown mix, but we're working on a DNA test! Cory can be a little reserved with strangers at first, but he warms up quickly and becomes very affectionate once he knows you. He loves to play in a safely fenced yard and has made some great doggy friends, including a Rottweiler, a Great Pyrenees, and another livestock guardian mix. Since arriving in March, Cory is still decompressing and revealing all his wonderful qualities. He was underweight when he arrived but appears to be in good health otherwise. Cory will thrive with humans who enjoy engaging in training and helping their dog build confidence and skills. He's ready to find his people to love!
Ideal Home
Cory would do best in a home with a securely and visibly fenced yard that is at least 4ft high. He cannot be in an apartment or condo. Some homes with a private use fenced yard may be considered. No children.
Ongoing Health
Cory has been neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. He was underweight upon arrival but appears to be in good health.
Training & Support
Cory is still decompressing and may need guidance with skills he missed in his earlier life. He will benefit from ongoing training and positive reinforcement.
