Meet Boss — Fort Collins, CO 🐶🤎

Watching a shy dog blossom into a confident companion is one of the most rewarding experiences. Boss, an approximately 1-year-old Rat Terrier weighing 10-12 lbs, is a testament to this. With heart-melting eyes and a hilarious personality, Boss is a bundle of potential, learning to be both a comedian and a cuddler. When he first arrived, he was understandably unsure of people, likely never having experienced gentle human touch. However, with patience and kindness, he melts into a loving pup, enjoying gentle pets, rocking chair snuggles, and even little kisses. He adores following his foster mom, discovering the joys of cozy beds and soft blankets. While still a bit skittish, Boss is incredibly worth the effort for someone patient enough to go at his pace.

Ideal Home

Boss would thrive in a home with a yard and a playmate, ideally another confident canine companion. He would also do well with older or calm children. We are unsure about his compatibility with cats as his foster home does not have any.

Ongoing Health

Boss is a healthy young pup with no known health conditions.

Training & Support

Boss is not yet leash trained. He is a big foodie and is very treat-motivated, which will be a great asset in his training. He sleeps through the night in his kennel. His foster mom, a professional dog trainer specializing in shy dogs, is offering a free training session to his adopter, focusing on confidence building and successful transition.
