About Alexander ("Alex")

Hi, my name is Alexander, but I prefer to be called Alex! I'm a handsome, long-legged boy with a medium-length coat that's a little easier to manage. My DNA tells us I'm about 45% Great Pyrenees and 25% Anatolian Shepherd, with a dash of other breeds. My mom was mostly Pyr, and my dad was said to be a livestock guardian, so we believe the DNA! A unique feature of mine is my cute, bobbed tail, which is genetic and wags with excitement. You might find it funny that I have some Chihuahua in my DNA, though I'm not sure where it comes from! I love to "Pyr paw" for attention and remind my favorite people that I'm ready for a walk. And speaking of walks, I LOVE them! I can be a little energetic at first because I get so excited to explore the great outdoors with my humans. I even look quite dashing as a reindeer in Christmas parades!

Ideal Home

I dream of a nice, big yard where I can run and play – zoomies are my favorite! I'd make a fantastic walking or hiking buddy with my long legs and enthusiasm. I love people, but I can be a bit fussy with other dogs, so it depends on the canine companion. Great Pyrenees require a fenced-in yard that is at least four feet high.

Ongoing Health

I'm a healthy boy with a unique genetic bobbed tail!

Training & Support

I'm a smart boy, and I love to remind my people I'm here with a friendly "Pyr paw"! I can be a bit energetic at first on walks, but it's just pure excitement.
