Princess is a spirited 4-year-old spayed female terrier pittie mix who was brought into rescue after being returned to a high-kill shelter for being "too energetic." Thankfully, she's now safe and looking for an active family to share her zest for life! Princess is up-to-date on all her shots, is heartworm negative, and is on monthly prevention. She's crate trained, house-trained, and has settled down nicely in her foster home, showing her true happy and loving nature. She enjoys car rides and playing with squeaky toys. While she knows her commands, she can get excited and jump for attention, but a firm "sit" will have her happily waiting for pets. Princess is an avid chewer and does best with appropriate chew toys like Kongs and bully sticks to keep her occupied. She's also a barker, letting her humans know when she needs to go potty or wants some love. She's dog-friendly with both males and females of all sizes, and while friendly towards cats and small dogs, her energetic nature might be overwhelming for them.
Ideal Home
Princess would thrive in an active home with older children, an active couple, or an active single person who can match her energy. She is not suited for apartment living and absolutely NEEDS a fenced yard, as she is not reliably off-leash trained without one. A securely fenced yard is a must, and tie-outs or electric fences are not an option. She can be the only dog if she receives plenty of exercise or would do well with a canine companion who shares her enthusiasm and energy level.

Princess is up-to-date on all vaccinations, is heartworm negative, and is on monthly heartworm and flea/tick prevention.
Training & Support
Princess knows commands such as sit, come, stay, off, and heel for leash walking. She's learning to sit for pets when corrected for jumping. She is an avid chewer and benefits from having a variety of chew toys readily available. She barks to communicate her needs, including needing to go potty or seeking affection.
