About Annie

Annie is a sweet and spunky Shih Tzu and Poodle mix, about 3-4 months old and weighing 7 lbs. She's expected to reach around 20 lbs when fully grown. Annie is affectionate and loves to be doted on. She's a curious and confident explorer, always eager to investigate new things. Annie is a social butterfly who enjoys meeting new people and furry friends, making her a great companion for an active family. Her adaptable and laid-back nature means she can fit into various home environments and enjoy family adventures. Whether playing with other dogs, cuddling, or playing with her toys, Annie is happy as long as she's with her humans. She has a perfect balance of playful energy and a desire to relax, and she's also good at entertaining herself.

Ideal Home

Annie would thrive in an active home where she can be included in daily life and receive plenty of love, exercise, and attention. A fenced yard would be wonderful for her to run and play. She would love to have another playful, friendly dog and children to play and cuddle with. Alternatively, she would be happy as an "only child" receiving all the affection. She enjoys outings and adventures, and while she loves being with her people, if her family works outside the home, a dog walker or doggy daycare is recommended as she cannot be left alone for more than 8 hours without playtime and potty breaks. Public dog parks are not recommended for Annie.

Ongoing Health

Annie is up-to-date on all age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipped, and on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. She has had all necessary vet care while in rescue. She is starting to teething, so her new family will need to provide plenty of appropriate chew toys and keep an eye on her to ensure she doesn't chew on human toys.

Training & Support

Annie is kennel and potty trained and has started leash training. She sleeps through the night in her kennel and is comfortable napping in it during the day. She will alert her foster family when she needs to go outside by circling the back door. Using a doggy doorbell is recommended to help her communicate her needs. She requires a consistent potty schedule initially, but she adapts quickly to new routines. She is starting to develop leash walking skills and will need continued practice to perfect them.
