Bella is a sweet and well-mannered dog who came to us when her previous owners could no longer provide her with the space and freedom she needed. While she's not your typical high-energy Malinois and is quite chill for her breed, she still thrives with plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. Bella has lived successfully with young children and a chihuahua in the past, and she's done well with the dogs and kids at our rescue. We are unsure about her interactions with cats, so we would err on the side of caution and say no cats. She walks beautifully on a leash, rides well in the car, and is crate-trained. Bella is most likely housebroken, as she hasn't had any accidents in our care.
Ideal Home
Bella would do best in a home with an active person or family who can provide her with ample exercise and mental enrichment. A fenced yard is ideal for her to run and play, but an active lifestyle with lots of outdoor adventures would also be suitable. Please note that Bella does not like bicycles and will react to them. This breed is not recommended for novice owners or apartment living.
Ongoing Health
Bella was seen by the vet on 6/1/26 and received a clean bill of health. She tested negative for heartworms and is on Simparica Trio for flea and heartworm prevention. She did test positive for whipworms and was treated with Drontal. Her vet recommended monthly Trifexis to continue treatment for whipworms, which will be started next month. Bella weighed 59 pounds as of 6/1/26.
Training & Support
Bella has a known behavioral issue with bicycles, which she reacts to by attacking the tires and jumping. Otherwise, she has not displayed any other concerning behaviors. She enjoys water and would likely love trips to the beach.
