Meet Roux!

Roux is a sweet 8-year-old, 72-pound gentleman who is a true gentle giant. He loves nothing more than being close to his people and will happily follow you from room to room, relax nearby, or enjoy some extra scratches. Roux is happiest when he's by your side. He was found as a stray and is looking for a quiet, loving home to call his own.

Ideal Home

Roux would thrive in a patient, understanding home that will give him the time and reassurance he needs to feel safe. He prefers a calm, quiet environment and can be nervous around loud noises, thunderstorms, quick movements, and unfamiliar people. Due to his tendency to jump and get excited around children, a home without young children or a family experienced with redirecting this behavior would be ideal. He is not comfortable with rough play or sudden movements.

Ongoing Health

Roux is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped.

Training & Support

Roux is house-trained and kennel-trained. He knows commands such as "sit," "no," and "get in your bed." He is motivated by his favorite chicken or sweet potato treats. While he has attended doggy daycare and lived successfully with another large dog, he can be timid around unfamiliar dogs and tends to be submissive.
