Randy

Randy is a handsome 4.5-year-old male Pointer and Shepherd mix, weighing around 42 lbs, who is looking for a fresh start and lots of love! He ended up in the shelter through no fault of his own and is now eager to find his forever home. Randy is past the puppy stage and is ready to be a loyal companion, enjoying long walks, adventures, and simply being safe and loved in his own home. His foster family describes him as a very sweet dog who is a great houseguest. He does well on his own and doesn't exhibit destructive behaviors. Randy is also getting used to his crate, sleeps well through the night, and his leash manners are improving. He's a dog who can entertain himself, keep you company, and is truly a loyal friend.

Ideal Home

Randy would thrive in a home ready for adventures and companionship. He gets along well with other dogs. We haven't seen him with cats or children, but we are happy to discuss integration techniques.

Ongoing Health

Randy tested positive for heartworms but has since been treated. Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets and is caused by mosquito bites. After treatment, dogs can lead full and normal lives, provided they are kept on monthly heartworm preventative. Randy has completed the necessary 4-6 week activity restriction period following his treatment.

Training & Support

Lucky Dog cannot guarantee that any dog is housebroken, but all dogs are working on their crate training. Randy's walking manners are improving.
