Meet Potatoes!
Potatoes is a sweet boy; his previous home described him as happy and friendly. He loves car rides! He knows the commands sit, lay down, stay, up, speak, and bedtime - but he is always eager to learn more. His previous home reported to us that he is very intelligent! He would love a home where he could go for daily walks or runs or perhaps be someone's hiking buddy!
Potatoes has lived with other dogs; he did well after a slow acclimation, but would require slow and patient introductions to any new dogs (ask a TCHS staff member for more info!). He has lived with cats as well, and while he did well with them, he also had a habit of chasing them. He also is known to have a prey drive to smaller animals like squirrels and rabbits outside, so he should be supervised outdoors or in a fenced in area. He does well with children but doesn't always realize his size - due to this we recommend any time with kiddos be supervised. Overall during introductions he can be excitable, so introductions should be done slowly and should always be supervised to maximize success in the home.
Potatoes is a very energetic boy that loves to run and play. He would benefit from regular long walks or other exercise/daily enrichment to keep his young mind stimulated. He is not used to being crated and roams the home freely when alone. He does fine, but will get into something if you leave it out for him! The previous owner noted as long as the home was tidy, he minded his manners and was always on his best behavior.
Potatoes will need regular brushing or periodic grooming to keep him looking stellar! Otherwise he can be quite the shedder.
