Comet

Comet is a 3-year-old, neutered male, hound/retriever mix who weighs about 56 pounds. He's a sweet, affectionate boy who loves to please and is always looking for cuddles. Comet was rescued from the streets and is now in a loving foster home in San Antonio, Texas, waiting for his forever family!

Ideal Home

Comet would be happiest in a home where he has a canine sibling to snuggle and play with, as he lives with another female dog and enjoys her company. He has done well with indoor cats and children, though he does have a bit of a herding instinct. For this reason, we recommend a home with children aged 10 years or older, or those who can understand and respect animal behavior cues. Comet is a bit wary of men, but with patience and consistency, he will warm up and become a loving companion, as he has with his foster dad.

Training & Support

Comet is fully house, crate, and leash trained. He sleeps through the night in his kennel without whining and does not pull on the leash. He has had no accidents in the house and will alert you when he needs to go potty. While he doesn't seem to have separation anxiety, he is crated when unsupervised because he enjoys tasting things he shouldn't. He is easy to train and responds well to positive reinforcement.

Transporation

Comet is currently in San Antonio, Texas. He can be transported to approved adopters once a transport is scheduled, which runs every few weeks.
