Meet Trooper, a handsome 7-year-old red tri Australian Shepherd with stunning blue eyes and an even bigger heart. This lovable guy is searching for the perfect family to call his own. At approximately 80 pounds, Trooper is a BIG Aussie with an equally big personality! He knows basic commands like sit, stay, and down, loves a good game of fetch, and is happiest spending time with his favorite people. Whether it's a road trip, a walk, or simply relaxing at home, Trooper is happiest by your side. Trooper spent 6 1/2 years with a loving family before coming into rescue. When unforeseen circumstances made it impossible for them to keep him, they made the difficult decision to surrender him so he could find the wonderful home he deserves. This sweet, loyal boy is ready for his next chapter and would make an amazing companion for someone looking for a devoted best friend.
Ideal Home
Trooper gets along well with other dogs but prefers calm, easygoing companions who respect his space. He would be perfectly content as an only dog, soaking up all the love and attention, but could also enjoy sharing his home with a laid-back canine friend. He has shown little interest in the cat in his foster home. While Trooper has not been around children in foster care, he previously lived with kids in his former home. Due to his size, a home with children 12 years and older would be the best fit.

Trooper is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and on monthly preventatives. He is also microchipped.
Training & Support
Trooper is fully housebroken and an excellent traveler. He may give a few barks when meeting new people, but with a gentle introduction, he warms up quickly.
