About Gina

Meet Gina! This lovely 1-year-old Belgian Malinois mix, weighing in at 56lbs, is ready to find her forever family. Gina had a rough start, found as a puppy abandoned in a cardboard box near a busy road. Thankfully, she's now in a loving foster home and dreaming of a family to call her own. Gina is a bundle of energy and affection, eager to please and loves to play!

Ideal Home

Gina would thrive in an active home with someone who will play with her daily and provide plenty of outlets for exercise, play, and enrichment. She enjoys the company of other dogs and gets along well with her small and large foster siblings. However, due to a past attack, she can be apprehensive around unknown, larger dogs and will do best with slow introductions. Gina also gets a bit too enthusiastic about neighborhood kitties, so a cat-free home is recommended. While she hasn't been around children, her jumpiness and size suggest a home with older, dog-savvy children (10 and up) would be ideal.

Ongoing Health

Gina is a healthy girl with no known ongoing health conditions.

Training & Support

Gina is house and crate trained and can be crated for up to 8 hours. She walks pretty well on a leash and doesn't show signs of separation anxiety. She's a smart pup who loves toys and has learned to play fetch, though she also entertains herself by collecting them. As she's in the "puppy velociraptor stage," she'll need guidance on appropriate chew toys. She prefers to enjoy her treats alone. Her foster family is committed to helping her grow into a well-mannered adult, and her future family will be key in continuing her socialization and positive training.
