Zeke

Meet Zeke! This 3-year-old American Akita is looking for an experienced owner who understands his breed. Zeke is not a dog for immediate friendship; he requires his space to be respected initially. While he may not be won over by belly rubs right away, he is very food-motivated, and regular feeding, watering, and daily walks will quickly earn his trust and affection.

Zeke and another dog, Zoey, were unfortunately abandoned by backyard breeders and ended up at a kill shelter in North Carolina. We believe Zeke has the potential to be a wonderful, loving, and protective companion for the right person.

Ideal Home

An experienced owner, preferably familiar with the American Akita breed, is a must. Zeke needs a patient adopter who will respect his need for personal space as he warms up.

Ongoing Health

Zeke will be fully vetted by our rescue before he is ready to leave.

Training & Support

Zeke is food-motivated, which can be a great asset in training. Daily walks and consistent care will help build a strong bond.

Transportation

Zeke is currently located in Charlotte, NC. Transport is available to the midwest, northeast, and southeast as part of the adoption fee. He will be personally delivered by a member of our team to ensure a smooth transition to his new home.
