A little about them
Ocean is a shy, sweet Chi/Terrier mix puppy who warms up into a loving cuddle bug. She enjoys belly rubs, fetch, her lamb toy, frozen treats, couch time, and giving kisses. Once comfortable, she is goofy, affectionate, and eager to be near her people.
Ideal Home
Ocean would do best in a suburban or otherwise quiet home with patient adopters and another dog to help build her confidence. She is shy with strangers and may be best with adults or children age 8 and up who can be gentle. A home prepared to provide daily exercise, socialization, mental enrichment, and ongoing positive training is important. Her foster parent reports that she plays very well with a similarly sized dog.
She is currently 6 months old and weighs 20 pounds as of October 5, with an estimated adult weight of about 30 pounds. Her breed mix and adult size are educated estimates.
Ongoing Health
Ocean is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on DHPP and Bordetella vaccines. She is reported healthy as far as known and was treated with a dewormer upon intake.
Training & Support
Ocean is mostly house-trained and sleeps well through the night in her crate. She may need encouragement to enter the crate but settles quickly. She is getting comfortable with being left alone.
She is still learning leash skills and currently walks for about 10 minutes. She can become startled and try to turn back, but is improving with patient, positive support. She is mouthy with household items and is working on appropriate chewing. Her foster parent recommends rewards-based professional training.
