Tommy is a sweet, approximately 10-month-old terrier mix who currently weighs about 27 lbs and is expected to reach around 37 lbs. He was born on April 10, 2024, and was rescued with his mother in Matamoros, Mexico. Tommy is described as docile, affectionate, playful, friendly, and loving. He is still learning to trust new people and can be a bit shy and nervous initially, but he absolutely adores his dog friends and loves to run and play.
Ideal Home
Tommy would thrive in a home with a family who has an open conscience about the needs of rescued animals and understands their behaviors may stem from past trauma, requiring protection and education. A family with experience in dog behavior and training, and a high tolerance and patience for rescued puppies, would be ideal. It's important to realize that Tommy is not house-trained and will need ongoing guidance in this area.
Ongoing Health
Tommy has received extensive veterinary care, including a spay/neuter certificate, DHPPI and rabies vaccines, Bordetella vaccine, deworming, and microchipping. He has also tested negative for heartworm and has had a 4DX test. He is on monthly Nexgard Spectra preventive for fleas, ticks, and heartworm, and comes with a health certificate and vaccination booklet.
Training & Support
Tommy is not house-trained and will require patience and consistency to learn. He is still learning to trust new people, so continued positive reinforcement and gentle introductions will be key to his adjustment.

Transportation
Tommy is currently being fostered in Matamoros, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on our next cross-country trip. A transport fee of $400.00 will be paid by the adopter prior to departure, covering delivery to the adopter's home address.
