Ferka is a delightful Chihuahua mix, about 4 years old and weighing in at a dainty 9 pounds. She's a small dog with a huge personality and an even bigger heart, embodying a sweet and social spirit. Ferka was found near a church, comfortable among people and happily interacting with other dogs, a testament to her friendly nature. She's crate-trained, travels calmly in the car, and gets along wonderfully with dogs, children, men, and women, even warming up to strangers. Ferka is affectionate, playful, and loves to shower her people with kisses, thriving on attention and being part of the family's activities.
Ideal Home
Ferka would thrive in a home with tolerant, playful dogs or with supervision, as her high energy can sometimes overwhelm other pups. She cannot live with cats, as she tends to chase them. An active family that enjoys outdoor activities and is looking for a joyful, loving, and affectionate companion would be a perfect fit. A home with a fenced backyard is a must.
Ongoing Health
Ferka has completed a comprehensive health protocol including: Spay/Neuter, 2 DHPPI Vaccinations, Rabies Vaccine, Bordetella Vaccine, Deworming, Microchipping, a 4DX Test, Negative Heartworm Test Certificate, and has begun monthly Nexgard Spectra preventive protection. She also received a Health Certificate and comes with a Vaccines booklet.
Training & Support
Ferka is not house-trained, and potential adopters should be prepared for this. She requires patience and understanding, especially as a rescued animal who may need time to adjust. A family with experience in dog behavior and training, or a willingness to hire a trainer, is highly recommended to help this intelligent dog reach her full potential. High tolerance and patience are key for her adjustment period.

Ferka is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico and is ready to travel to the East Coast on a scheduled cross-country trip. Transportation is available door-to-door for a fee of $400 USD. This service includes a dedicated transport team, all necessary legal and health documents, real-time updates during the journey, and a final home delivery with a review to ensure a smooth transition.
