Sweetie

Sweetie is a 1-year-old pit bull with a heart of gold! She was rescued from a shelter in Lancaster, California, after being found as a stray and lactating, though no puppies were found with her. Sweetie was underweight when she arrived, but she's working on gaining more weight and loves to eat! Despite her past, she yearns for affection and closeness to humans and is as sweet as her name suggests.

Ideal Home

Sweetie would do best in a home where things are taken slow and with someone patient, as she is still very shy and nervous about the world. She would likely be okay with mellow, laid-back animals with very slow introductions, but she might do best as the only pet, or with animals that give her space to warm up.

Ongoing Health

Sweetie is still needing to gain about 7 more pounds. She eats well and just needs to be fed slowly throughout the day. She has a spay surgery scheduled for 7/17/24.

Training & Support

Sweetie is potty-trained but only goes potty off-leash, so a fenced yard or a nearby fenced area is needed. She is good on the leash, not reactive, and doesn't pull. She also has no issues with having her nails clipped.
