Smurfette is a gentle, sensitive girl who is still learning that the world isn't so scary. She came to HAP from a high-intake shelter in Georgia when they no longer had space for her. Since arriving here, her confidence has grown, but she can be a bit of a nervous nellie and appreciates people who are willing to move at her pace. It may take a few soft words and some patience to earn her trust, but once she warms up, her sweet personality begins to shine through. Smurfette has been making wonderful progress, happily joining full walks and even showing curiosity toward other dogs. She recently enjoyed a calm greeting with a small dog, complete with tail wags and polite sniffs. When she feels safe, she's content to sit quietly with her favorite people, soaking up gentle pets and affection. Smurfette is looking for a patient, loving home that will help her continue building confidence and discovering just how good life can be!

- Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals.
- If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match!
- All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit.
- We encourage same-day adoptions!
