Meet Mo!
Mo is a soulful six-year-old Chesapeake Bay Retriever mix with a gentle heart and a beautiful tricolor coat, just waiting to be cherished. At 75 pounds, he still believes laps are made for him, and while he's calm and low-energy indoors, Mo bonds deeply once he feels safe, especially with women. He becomes a loyal shadow to his favorite person and his favorite activity is snuggling close and soaking up affection, making quiet evenings on the couch feel like the coziest place on Earth. He is house-trained, crate-trained, and knows basic commands like sit, stay, and come.
Ideal Home
Mo needs a calm, structured environment in a quiet rural or suburban area with a securely fenced yard where he can enjoy the outdoors without overwhelming stimuli. He needs to be the only pet in the home and would thrive in a home without cats or frequent visitors. A guardian experienced with anxiety or reactivity in dogs, who uses positive reinforcement and has patience, will help Mo rebuild his confidence. Consistency and gentle companionship are key, and he'd do especially well with someone who works from home or has a predictable routine.
Ongoing Health
Mo has a mild allergy to poultry and needs to avoid it. He also has mild arthritis in his hind legs, but this doesn't stop him from enjoying cuddles. He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations.
Training & Support
Mo can become anxious and reactive in noisy environments with unpredictable sounds and lots of strangers or other animals. He needs a guardian who understands anxiety or reactivity and uses positive reinforcement with patience and consistency.
