Hey there! I'm Chook, which, if you speak Australian, means Chicken! Pretty neat, huh? I'm a Bully Breed mix with a gorgeous, velvety red coat and the most adorable, unique ears. I'm not a huge dog, tipping the scales at around 42 pounds, but I've got a personality that's larger than life!
My journey here has been quite the adventure. I was rescued from a situation where someone was trying to do a good deed by fostering, but sadly, they couldn't quite handle all the responsibilities. Luckily, fate stepped in, and I landed with my current foster family – and guess what? They're professional dog trainers! How awesome is that? They've been teaching me all sorts of cool tricks, like "sit," "down," and my personal favorite, "Place!" I'm also getting pretty good at following directions when we're out for a walk.
When I first meet new people, I can be a bit shy, but once I warm up, I turn into a spirited, happy-go-lucky pup! I love to let my voice be heard and enjoy a good romp around the backyard, like a silly goose.
Ideal Home
I'd do well in a home with older teenagers, but I definitely need a place with no young children. My play style can be a bit "mouthy" with my humans, so a home that understands and can manage this would be perfect. I'm also super social with other dogs and would love to have some canine buddies to play with! We'd just need to make sure I don't get too pushy, but I'm a quick learner and easy to correct. I haven't met any cats yet, so that's still a mystery!
Ongoing Health
I'm a healthy pup and ready for adventure!
Training & Support
My foster parents are trainers, so I've already got a great foundation in obedience! They're even sending home lessons with my new family to help me settle in smoothly. I can be a bit mouthy when I play, so gentle guidance and redirection will be key to success.
