Bear is a handsome, confident, and people-loving 1-year-old pittie mix who weighs about 60 lbs. He's eager to learn and enjoys human interaction, happily joining in on any activity or just lounging nearby. Bear is house- and crate-trained and responds well to positive reinforcement, especially treats! He's still a bit of a puppy and can get overly excited around other dogs, but with consistent guidance and proper introductions, he's learning to manage his enthusiasm. He has shown he can respect boundaries with other dogs, as he learned to back off from a feisty chihuahua. Bear is curious and has shown restraint around cats, suggesting he could live peacefully with a dog-savvy feline friend with slow introductions. He's active and engaged, thriving on regular exercise, mental stimulation, and ongoing training, especially with enrichment puzzles. Bear is a good dog with a big heart and a sweet personality, and he's incredibly rewarding to train and help blossom into his full potential.
Ideal Home
Bear would do best in a home that can provide regular exercise, mental stimulation, and ongoing training. He would thrive with a confident, calm, larger female dog who won't be overwhelmed by his playful energy. A dog-savvy, confident cat and slow introductions would be essential if a feline friend is part of the household.
Ongoing Health
Bear has no known ongoing health conditions. He will receive all necessary vetting, including vaccinations, deworming, flea and heartworm prevention, and testing before adoption.
Training & Support
Bear is still working on leash manners, particularly his excitement around other dogs. He responds well to corrections and consistent handling. While he can be a bit pushy in play sessions, he learns to respect boundaries with appropriate dog introductions and structure.
